Die Wahl Barack Obamas zum ersten afroamerikanischen Pr\u00e4sidenten der USA scheint f\u00fcr viele Menschen – in den USA und dar\u00fcber hinaus – zwei Auffassungen best\u00e4tigt zu haben: erstens, dass der Rassismus als gesellschaftliches Problem in den USA, wenn schon nicht \u00fcberwunden, so doch dramatisch gelindert worden ist; und zweitens, dass es zu gesellschaftlichem Fortschritt am ehesten und sichersten in Form schrittweiser Reformen innerhalb einer parlamentarisch-kapitalistischen Grundordnung kommt.<\/p>\n

Die symbolische Bedeutung der Wahl Obamas, die viele AfroamerikanerInnen tief ber\u00fchrte, kann ebenso wenig verleugnet werden wie die Tatsache, dass es einen \u00bbgesellschaftlichen Fortschritt\u00ab darstellt, wenn ein Mann, der mancherorts vor knapp vierzig Jahren keine Parkbank mit wei\u00dfen1 Mitb\u00fcrgerInnen h\u00e4tte teilen k\u00f6nnen, nunmehr in das h\u00f6chste Amt des Landes gew\u00e4hlt wird.<\/p>\n

Nichtsdestotrotz gibt es innerhalb der afroamerikanischen Gemeinde gen\u00fcgend Individuen und Gruppen, die ein kritisches Verh\u00e4ltnis zu Obama einnehmen, der ihnen als Repr\u00e4sentant einer Gesellschaftsordnung gilt, die nichtwei\u00dfe Gemeinden systematisch diskriminiert, auch wenn es einzelnen Repr\u00e4sentantInnen dieser Gemeinden m\u00f6glich sein mag, individuell erfolgreich zu sein: in der Unterhaltungsindustrie, im Sport … und mittlerweile auch in der Politik. Die Bloggerin Moya meinte beispielsweise auf der Quirky-Black-Girls-Site anl\u00e4sslich der Wahl Obamas, dass \u00bbstruktureller Rassismus auf solchen Ausnahmen aufbaut, um die Regel zu verschleiern\u00ab, und dass es \u00bbleichter war, als das Gesicht des US-Imperialismus nicht so aussah wie meines\u00ab. Der Black Agenda Report brachte eine Reihe von Artikeln, die Shannon Joyce Princes Ansicht teilten, dass Obama \u00bbImperialismus, Neo-Kolonialismus und Konzernherrschaft hinter progressiver Rhetorik verbirgt\u00ab. Und im Black Commentator meinte Larry Pinkney, ein Veteran des militanten afroamerikanischen Widerstands der 1960er Jahre, gar, dass \u00bbdie \u00f6konomische und milit\u00e4rische Elite der USA Barack Obama dazu verwendet, den Schwarzen Befreiungskampf f\u00fcr Gerechtigkeit und Gleichheit zu neutralisieren und zu zerst\u00f6ren.\u00ab2…..<\/p>\n

Larry Pinkney<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is a veteran of the Black Panther Party, the former Minister of Interior of the Republic of New Africa, a former political prisoner and the only American to have successfully self-authored his civil\/political rights case to the United Nations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. In connection with his political organizing activities, Pinkney was interviewed in 1988 on the nationally televised PBS News Hour, formerly known as The MacNeil\/Lehrer News Hour, and more recently on the nationally syndicated Alex Jones Show. Pinkney is a former university instructor of political science and international relations, and his writings have been published in various places, including The Boston Globe, San Francisco BayView newspaper, Black Commentator, Intrepid Report, Global Research (Canada), LINKE ZEITUNG (Germany), 107 Cowgate (Ireland and Scotland), and Mayihlome News (Azania\/South Africa). He is in the archives of Dr. Huey P. Newton (Stanford University, CA), cofounder of the Black Panther Party.
