By Larry Pinkney<\/strong><\/p>\n I penned this poem of not so random thoughts, in recognition of the shameless hypocrisy and tragic betrayal of everyday Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people, by so many supposed \u2018liberals\u2019 and \u2018progressives\u2019 who make claim to being a part of the so-called political \u2018left\u2019 in the United States, even as they support this nation\u2019s systemic misleaders who are emaciating the people economically, politically, and constitutionally. These persons are neither \u2018progressive\u2019 or of any kind of principled \u2018left.\u2019 They merely serve to give political cover<\/span> to the ongoing atrocities being committed around the world in our name by the current Obama \/ Biden regime. And in so doing, they perpetuate<\/span> these internal and external horrors and the fake left\/right paradigm, as well as the de facto two-party dictatorship by the corporate Democrat and Republican parties. They are betrayers of humanity. That\u2019s what this poem is all about.<\/p>\n That<\/span><\/em> ‘Left’ Has Left<\/span><\/p>\n Langston spoke of a dream,<\/p>\n Deferred.<\/p>\n John Brown and Harriet Tubman gave their<\/p>\n All,<\/p>\n For that dream\u2019s<\/p>\n Fruition.<\/p>\n Crazy Horse, Tecumseh, and Chief Seattle<\/p>\n Tried to warn us.<\/p>\n Mother Jones, Rosa Parks, and Viola Liuzzo put their<\/p>\n Bodies on the line,<\/p>\n For the poor, the exploited, and<\/p>\n The downtrodden.<\/p>\n Malcolm and Martin were the<\/p>\n Recipients of bullets,<\/p>\n Trying to bring our dreams to<\/p>\n Fruition.<\/p>\n So many unknown and unnamed<\/p>\n From humanity\u2019s vast color<\/p>\n Collage,<\/p>\n Labored and died for us.<\/p>\n Do we not know?<\/p>\n Can we not see, even now?<\/p>\n We have been divided and<\/p>\n Our histories distorted.<\/p>\n The insatiable greed<\/p>\n Of the gluttonous rich,<\/p>\n Is ravaging us and our<\/p>\n Mother Earth.<\/p>\n But Alas! Where is the Left<\/p>\n In our hour of need?<\/p>\n Are we yet blind?<\/p>\n They\u2019re busy,<\/p>\n Keeping the system of the rich<\/p>\n Intact.<\/p>\n Consorting with the<\/p>\n Vipers of the phony left\/right<\/p>\n Divide.<\/p>\n Sitting on their pedestals<\/p>\n With airs of<\/p>\n Superiority,<\/p>\n Perpetuating, in the name of progress,<\/p>\n The misery of the<\/p>\n People.<\/p>\n They consort with the<\/p>\n The evil of one or both<\/p>\n Of the lessers,<\/p>\n To keep the realization of<\/p>\n Our dreams in hock.<\/p>\n Oh, but what of the Left?<\/p>\n Surely they will tell us<\/p>\n The truth.<\/p>\n No, my friend.<\/p>\n That<\/em> Left,<\/p>\n Left the people<\/p>\n Long ago.<\/p>\n It\u2019s up to you and me.<\/p>\n And that is<\/p>\n Exactly as it should be.<\/p>\n
