She was falsely accused of helping terrorists as she represented , \u201cBlind Sheikh\u201d Omar Abdel-Rahman. An attorney who known for representing controversial, poor, and often unpopular defendants, she was arrested in April 2002, tried in 2004, convicted, and sentenced to 28 months in October 2006. However she was free on bail until 2009, when the government appealed the sentence.
